Delhi: 7 women among 9 booked for gang rape of 20-year-old

In the case of the rape of a woman in Delhi's Vivek Vihar, two people have been detained.

The Shahdara police have reportedly captured two minors in addition to the nine accused. Seven of the people detained are women. The arrests came a day after DCW chief Swati Maliwal requested that the Delhi Police submit a detailed action-taken report within 72 hours.

The Commission has also requested information about past complaints filed against the defendants, particularly those involving their involvement in the booze and drug trade.

Aside from that, CCTV footage and cellphone video clips have been used to identify roughly 10-15 persons. According to the police, five squads are on the lookout for the remaining suspects.

On Republic Day, the woman was allegedly kidnapped, gang-raped, and assaulted in the Vivek Vihar neighbourhood of the national capital. She was then paraded through the streets with a garland of shoes. According to authorities, the incident is believed to have occurred as a result of the woman's personal animosity toward the accused.
