The ISRO successfully launches three satellites into orbit in its maiden mission in 2022

A new earth observation satellite and two small satellites have successfully been launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in its maiden mission in 2022.

The PSLV-C52 rocket successfully completed the first launch mission of 2022 at 5.59 a.m. on Monday.

After a 19-minute flight, the agency's launch vehicle, PSLV, placed the satellites into their designated orbit.

EOS-04 was placed into an intended solar synchronous polar orbit of 529 km height at 6.17 a.m., according to an ISRO tweet.

The two small satellites, INSPIREsat-1 (17.5 kg) and INS-2TD (8.1 kg), were also deployed in their orbits after the EOS-04 was launched.

ISRO Chairman S Somanath said after the successful launch, "PSLV-C52/mission EOS-04's has been completed successfully. PSLV-C52 has delivered the principal satellite EOS-04 into a very precise orbit, as well as the co-passenger satellites INSPIREsat-1 and INS-2TD."

EOS-04 is 1,710 kg and has a 10-year mission life. It's a Radar Imaging Satellite that will offer high-resolution images in any weather. Forestry and plantations, agriculture, soil moisture and hydrology, and flood mapping are all possible applications.
