According to the Indian Metrological Department (IMD), widespread, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall is quite likely over the western Himalayan region from February 2 to February 4 due to the effect of a fresh active western disturbance and its generated cyclonic circulation. The weather service also forecasted an isolated hailstorm for the region on February 3 in its daily bulletin, which was released on Sunday.

A feeble western disturbance is expected to bring rain and snow to the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh through February 1, according to the IMD.

Forecasts and Warnings for the Next 5 Days

1. From January 31 to February 3, IMD forecasted isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, with increased activity on February 1.

2. The weather service predicts isolated light rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the next 48 hours, as well as Kerala and Mahe over the next five days.

3. During the next three days, light isolated rainfall and snowfall is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, which will increase after that.

4. Surface winds (15-25 kmph) are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh over the next two days.

5. From February 2 to 4, the IMD forecasted scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

6. On February 3, an isolated hailstorm is also possible over Punjab, Haryana, and northwest Uttar Pradesh.

7. On February 3 and 4, the agency predicts scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim, as well as Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on February 4 and 5.
