Tamil Nadu schools, colleges to reopen February 1; curfew lifted

From February 1, the Tamil Nadu government has planned to open schools and colleges to all students in the state from grades 1 to 12.

The state education department has approved the use of Covid protocols in physical education programmes at schools and colleges. The ban on play schools and nursery schools, on the other hand, will remain in place.

As part of further loosening restrictions, the state government has agreed to end Sunday lockdown, which was enforced in response to an increase in Covid cases. In addition, the state has chosen to lift the nighttime curfew.

In the state, no exhibitions, cultural activities, or political events will be tolerated. Restaurants, shops, theatres, and gyms will be able to operate at 50% capacity.
