In the wake of escalating tensions with Russia, the Indian embassy in Kyiv has urged its people to leave the country

The Indian Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, urged its citizens, particularly students whose stay is not required, to leave the country temporarily "in light of the current situation's uncertainties."

The letter stated that "Indian nationals are requested to keep the Embassy updated about the status of their presence in Ukraine to allow the Embassy to approach them if needed," and that the embassy will "continue to function regularly to provide all services to Indian people" in the country.

The US said on Monday that they're reallocating its embassy in Kyiv to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, citing the "dramatic acceleration" of Russian soldiers' buildup along the country's border.

After ordering the withdrawal of diplomats and halting consular services in the war-torn country, the US has already evacuated the majority of its employees at the US embassy in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has spoken to Russia's and Ukraine's foreign ministers, expressing "deep concern" about the heightened tensions between the two nations and requesting diplomacy to defuse hostilities.
