On Wednesday, Dileep, a popular actor who is a suspect in the famed actress abduction case, received a jolt when the police addressed the trial court asking a new investigation into the case in light of new facts.

This event occurred just as the trial in the case before a special court in this city was about to conclude.

On February 17, 2017, the actress was kidnapped and assaulted in a moving automobile in Kochi, and Dileep was arrested in connection with the case in July 2017, spending many weeks in jail before securing release.

He has been charged with "revenge crime" as a co-conspirator in the case.

After film director Balachandra Kumar revealed that he saw the images of Dileep's assault on the actress in the car shortly after he was released on bail, the police filed the plea in court.

Kumar further stated that the photos were sent to the actor by a VIP, and that he was informed of the situation.

Interestingly, only the trial court has seen these photos thus far, and if Kumar's testimony is correct, this will be a big issue.
