Indian cricket is in good hands with Rohit Sharma: Darren Sammy

Former West Indies skipper Darren Sammy stated on Friday that the Virat Kohli captaincy crisis will have no impact on India's team morale and that the team is in good hands under Rohit Sharma's leadership. Rohit, according to Sammy, knows how to motivate and elicit the greatest performance from his players.

India is going through a period of change, as Virat Kohli's captaincy in all three forms has come to an end. Kohli was ousted as ODI captain months after stepping down as T20I captain, bringing an end to his 7-year career as Test captain earlier this month.

Kohli's removal as ODI skipper sparked a flurry of speculation, with the former captain pointing fingers at the BCCI for a lack of communication.

However, Sammy, who is captaining the World Giants in the Legends League Cricket's inaugural season, believes Kohli will continue to contribute as a batter and that Indian cricket is unaffected.

"Kohli's performances on the field have been outstanding. I don't believe that will have an impact on the team "According to Sammy, who spoke to the Press Trust of India.

"Rohit has been a fantastic captain (with the Mumbai Indians) and a great motivator. I've seen him skipper Mumbai in the Indian Premier League. He joins the likes of MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir as winners.

"All of these guys know how to get the best out of their colleagues." These captains are known for making results and winning trophies. I have no concerns regarding Indian cricket. He said, "It's in good hands."
