Kerala reports 52,199 new covid cases, with a TPR of 41.88 percent | Hot News

Kerala's health department said in a press release that 51,199 new Covid-19 cases were registered on Wednesday. The test positive rate was 41.8%.


The following are the positive case statistics by district:


Ernakulam-11224, Thiruvananthapuram-5701, Thrissur-4843, Kozhikode-4602, Kottayam-4192, Kollam-3828, Malappuram-3268, Alappuzha-2939, Palakkad-2598, Pathanamthitta-2475, Kannur-2295, Idukki-1757, Wayanad-1602.


In the last 24 hours, 1,24,611 samples were tested.


In the state, 5,32,051 persons are now being watched. There are 5,20,612 people in quarantine at home or in institutions, and 11,439 persons in hospitals. On Wednesday, 1,277 people were admitted to hospitals.


Only 3% of the 3,77,823 current Covid cases recorded have been hospitalised to hospitals or field hospitals.


The health agency also reported 335 deaths that were newly certified as Covid-19 deaths based on the updated rules, in addition to the 29 additional COVID deaths. Aside from that, 136 more deaths were added to the COVID death list due to a delay in receiving the necessary documentation. The death toll in the state now stands at 56,100.


3,033 of the new patients were returned from out of state. A total of 44,956 persons became infected after coming into contact with the virus. The source of infection in 3,740 patients is still unknown. COVID-19 was found in 470 health workers.


Meanwhile, the state reported 41,715 recoveries.


Thiruvananthapuram-2175, Kollam-3900, Pathanamthitta-1810, Alappuzha-2406, Kottayam-3043, Idukki-1267, Ernakulam-11021, Thrissur-2010, Palakkad-3504, Malappuram-2095, Kozhikode-4114, Wayanad-1110, Kannur-2333, and Kasaragod-937 are the district-wise statistics


So far, 56,95,091 people have recovered from the sickness.
