One District One Product (ODOP)

The One District One Product plan identifies a product from each Indian district and reaps benefits in terms of profitability and employment. It is a step toward reaching a district's true potential, contributes to economic progress, and aligns with Vocal for Local.

In 2021, ODOP traded 13,136 kg of sliced and dried Lakadong turmeric to a large food processing plant in Ernakulam, Kerala.

ODOP collaborated with AGNIi Mission, one of the Prime Minister's Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council's nine technology missions, to identify Indian innovative technologies that can play a transformative role in the end-to-end processing of Lakadong Turmeric, beginning with the use of payload drones (UAVs) to transport large quantities of turmeric.
